Rules for Canoe Polo Sessions
All juniors must be accompanied by parent or guardians (do not need to be on water, but must stay poolside at all times).
All participants must be members of Colwyn Canoe Club unless taking part in a recognised club beginner’s course or the two trial sessions open to new members trying the sport. This is because of insurance requirements.
Participants must tell the recognised person on coaching duty about any medical conditions or medication that are relevant e.g. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy etc.
All participants must wear a t-shirt, covering at least the upper arms. This is to prevent sweaty buoyancy aids which we all have to share! Also when hand tackling prevents attacker slipping off greasy bodies.
Participants must ensure that they arrive early enough to:-
Register & pay
Help assist moving equipment from the storage ready for the session
Get changed and warm up ready to be on the water for 8pm sharp.
Participants must abide by the rules and instructions of the person on coaching duty and other coaches involved in the session. At all times participants must abide by the recognised rules of Canoe Polo to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all involved.
Canoeing is a risk sport and individuals should be aware of the inherent danger of participating.
Participants at the end of the session must:-
Clear the pool as soon as the final whistle goes.
Collect all equipment together and place on appropriate ropes etc, make sure boats are properly emptied, all balls collected, goals taken down.
Help place equipment back in the storage shed.
Your assistance in complying with the rules would be much appreciated.
